QUARTZITE CARE AND MAINTENANCE | SOUTH FLORIDA

Quartzite

Quartzite is a stone of choice for people who love the look of marble, but want something less delicate. However, the hardness of quartzite can make it difficult to work with. Not everyone will. At MarbleKare USA our highly trained and qualified technicians know how to properly erase quartzite damage. MarbleKare USA services  residential and commercial properties throughout South Florida.

Quartzite Insights

Quartzite is a metamorphic rock, which simply means that it started out as one type of stone and over time the elements “morph” it into something different.
In the case of quartzite, it starts as quartz sand (like on a beach). Then with heat and pressure it becomes sandstone. Then, with more heat and pressure, it becomes quartzite.

Quartzite is usually light colored but some minerals can give it a blue or red hue.

Quartzite quarries can be found through out the world. Brazil, Ireland, Norway and the United States are just a few of the places that quarry quartzite. Theme Vals in Switzerland is a good place to see quartzite but one of the best places to see the durability and colors of quartzite is in Sioux Falls, SD. The Sioux Falls quartzite quarry is on the outskirts of town, not too far from the airport.
Quartzite is versatile, beautiful and restorable if necessary. It adds beauty and durability to all sorts of projects, ranging from commercial to residential. And, since quartzite can be renewed and restored, it is a great investment that will remain beautiful for years to come.

Quartzite Care and Maintenance

If your quartzite is dirty or dull looking, scratched, cracked, chipped or otherwise damaged, we can make it look beautiful all over again.

Quartzite is much harder than marble, and when it needs service, be sure to call a professional that has the specialized knowledge to work on your quartzite. MarbleKare USA is qualified and experienced with quartzite. From having your quartzite floors or countertops honed and polished to sealing and protecting, our professional technicians can perform these services for you.

Quartzite Repairs

Do you have chipped quartzite countertops? Are there cracks in your quartzite floor? What about broken quartzite tiles? Before you replace your quartzite, consider having us provide expert quartzite repair services. We can fill holes in, fix quartzite cracks and chips, blending the repair site with the surrounding area, and honing and polishing it to match the finish on the rest of your quartzite floor, countertop or other quartzite surfaces.

Quartzite Honing

A honed finish is the most recommended finish for quartzite. Do your quartzite floors or  countertops have dull areas associated with wear patterns, scratches, or spots? We can hone your quartzite surfaces to eliminate these imperfections, resulting in a new quartzite surface free of damage. With our quartzite honing services, MarbleKare USA’s expert technicians can achieve a honed or soft matte finish that is warm, inviting, and velvety smooth.

Quartzite Polishing

MarbleKare can polish your quartzite using stone-specific equipment and techniques to achieve the level of shine you desire. With our quartzite polishing services, our expert technicians can achieve a beautiful semi-gloss to a glass-like polish.

Quartzite Grinding/Flattening

Are your tiles uneven? Do you want your quartzite tile floor flattened to the grout lines to facilitate easier cleaning? We can grind away the excess stone to create a flat, level surface using state-of-the art diamond grinding technology. Once ground to the level and shape desired, the quartzite is honed and polished to the finish you want.

Sealing & Protecting

Quartzite is not acid-sensitive but does need a little extra protection to inhibit stains.

Some natural stone types are more porous than others, and the more porous a natural stone is, the more susceptible it is to staining. We may recommend you have us seal your quartzite to give you added protection from staining. Sealing represents an inexpensive, preventative measure against stain damage, because it buys you time to wipe up spills before they become stains.
